    Sean Weisbrot: What is the hardest thing about what you do?

    Travis Mcgregor: Whew.

    Travis Mcgregor: That's a tough question.

    Travis Mcgregor: Believing in thyself 100% when everyone else around you does not.

    Sean Weisbrot: Why do you think that's the hardest thing?

    Travis Mcgregor: Uh, we're all somewhat herd mentality and know, we don't wanna be wrong.

    Travis Mcgregor: We don't wanna waste people's time, we don't wanna waste people's money.

    Travis Mcgregor: Maybe my thoughts and ideas aren't good enough, would be my response

    Sean Weisbrot: Do you think you're good enough?

    Travis Mcgregor: that.

    Travis Mcgregor: It is taken all these years.

    Travis Mcgregor: But, uh, I visited that young little boy at 10 years old and said, tra, you're Travis.

    Travis Mcgregor: You're okay.

    Travis Mcgregor: You know, I believe in th myself believe in Yes. I, I do believe it's a, a personal journey for everyone to have confidence and, you know, and, and have belief in your ideas and have conviction about it. But when you believe in something fully, it's difficult, but drives you.

    Travis Mcgregor: Sometimes you question yourself, and sometimes that's not good.

    Travis Mcgregor: Just keep going with it.

    Sean Weisbrot: Was there someone that made you think badly about yourself or positively about yourself when you were younger?

    Travis Mcgregor: I, yes, I, uh, my father took ill in the age of about 2021. I took over a company very difficult for Young Mountain.

    Travis Mcgregor: And I was put into the prime scene of mobile networks talking to the chairman of board of directors of Vodafone and Bridge Telecom and these kind type of companies.

    Travis Mcgregor: And I remember I did a presentation at, I think it was 22 years old in London, and it was televised about a thousand people.

    Travis Mcgregor: And I was the engineer kind of technology.

    Travis Mcgregor: So I, I knew the technology, but the marketing people changed the whole presentation on my keynote and I choked.

    Travis Mcgregor: Couldn't do the presentation.

    Travis Mcgregor: I had to excuse myself because it couldn't speak to the material on there, but the pressure, right? interesting about the human side of business and everything, it's haunted me. You know, also, it's made me better, more prepared, I would say, in the future.

    Travis Mcgregor: So those things don't happen.

    Travis Mcgregor: But yeah, it was one of those things where you, you, you're kind of naked on stage and everyone's pointing the finger with the laughing and so on is a, a tough thing as a young man in this professional wild business world.

    Travis Mcgregor: Yeah.

    Sean Weisbrot: So no one in particular treated you un poor, uh, poorly or unfairly.

    Sean Weisbrot: It's just something like this kind of an experience woke you up.

    Travis Mcgregor: That woke me up. And unfortunately I've had the, the negative side of bad actors in business and not to get onto it, this is a public forum, but,

    Sean Weisbrot: I.

    Travis Mcgregor: yeah, and, and, and, and that has driven me to, um, of a boy scout in the world.

    Sean Weisbrot: Do you think those people purposely changed the presentation?

    Travis Mcgregor: I always wonder that.

    Travis Mcgregor: So my thought immediately on that is they didn't understand what I was presenting.

    Travis Mcgregor: So they put something together, they understood, and it just tripped me up on the presentation I could have speaking to it, but I think it was distress, know, as it just got to me.

    Travis Mcgregor: So these are the defining things in life.

    Travis Mcgregor: Yeah.

    Sean Weisbrot: And these were employees of the company that you are now running.

    Travis Mcgregor: Yes.

    Sean Weisbrot: So do you think it was maybe your inexperience as a leader to communicate with them in advanced so that they understood

    Travis Mcgregor: Oh, absolutely.

    Travis Mcgregor: So it's, yeah.

    Travis Mcgregor: Uh, you know, one, the, things are very good in one aspect is, is it, it prepares you for the future.

    Travis Mcgregor: So these things don't happen.

    Travis Mcgregor: You really check your basis on all things.

    Travis Mcgregor: But yet young and inexperienced was definitely it. 22 years old.

    Travis Mcgregor: I, it was 21 or 22, but come on, man, that's young, right?

    Travis Mcgregor: I don't have my

    Sean Weisbrot: Yeah.

    Travis Mcgregor: out there in the world.

    Sean Weisbrot: So what was your response to that?

    Sean Weisbrot: How did you go back to the team and, and like what did you say to them?

    Travis Mcgregor: You know, I'm, I always fall on my sword.

    Travis Mcgregor: That's the kind of leader I am. I don't wanna point fingers in the rest of it. I made it more of, Hey, I, I made a mistake.

    Travis Mcgregor: The material was different.

    Travis Mcgregor: And, and I used that to then and, and, you know, I made little movements and so on with people to make sure that didn't happen again.

    Travis Mcgregor: But, uh, I'm a leader that, you know, I don't, I don't point fingers, you know, at the end of the day, it's my full responsibility.

    Travis Mcgregor: I could have looked at the material ahead of time.

    Sean Weisbrot: And so what happened?

    Sean Weisbrot: Did you get another chance?

    Sean Weisbrot: To present or was that deal dead?

    Travis Mcgregor: No, it was an industry event.

    Travis Mcgregor: I, I had many opportunities after that and actually that, that propelled me to an event where I got rid of a presentation altogether and did it all from the hip, and it was extremely successful.

    Travis Mcgregor: So it's like you take one horrible experience in your life and say, wait a second, I've been up there with no preparation, no material.

    Travis Mcgregor: I'm gonna speak exactly what.

    Travis Mcgregor: And uh, actually it was the time that, uh, I was, uh, it was in Atlanta.

    Travis Mcgregor: It was a mobile industry event.

    Travis Mcgregor: And, uh, I was overhearing the British telecoms, uh, the mobile network in the UK saying, Hey, listen, I need to get prepaid services by Christmas, otherwise, you know, in the shops.

    Travis Mcgregor: Otherwise, I'm gonna lose my job as CEO of BT cell net.

    Travis Mcgregor: And then the, and then the CEO Philip saying, Hey, we're the new FA man.

    Travis Mcgregor: We're making phones.

    Travis Mcgregor: We're the new manufacturer out there.

    Travis Mcgregor: If I don't get all these phones sold and in the stores by Christmas, I lose my job too.

    Travis Mcgregor: So I was selling patented rental systems.

    Travis Mcgregor: So I got on stage I saw the two CEOs in the audience, big audience, and I said, I knew technically I could do this.

    Travis Mcgregor: I presented a pre realtime prepaid service and said that I could have that integrated and available in 60 days, never been done before in the world.

    Travis Mcgregor: So after they got me right away and said, Travis, can you do this?

    Travis Mcgregor: And we know what. course I can call my twin brother, go to Stanford Library right away.

    Travis Mcgregor: There's a lot of terminology I don't understand.

    Travis Mcgregor: We gotta get going.

    Travis Mcgregor: And we were the first, uh, company in the world to use SMS for delivery to mobile phones and GSM. We were the per first, uh, real time billing for prepaid in the United Kingdom.

    Travis Mcgregor: Pay, pay and go service was the original service, very successful and ultimately changed the industry.

    Travis Mcgregor: That one moment where I was not prepared was everything, and then the time when I was not prepared was the worst.

    Travis Mcgregor: It was interesting how things evolved.

    Sean Weisbrot: And how much was that unprepared speech worth to your business?

    Travis Mcgregor: Everything was the whole future.

    Travis Mcgregor: Nothing that I, the present, the, the technology I was presenting obsolete in six months after I presented that.

    Travis Mcgregor: It didn't exist in the

    Sean Weisbrot: Why?

    Travis Mcgregor: No reason for it because, you know, why would you rent a phone when I can go get one off the shelf and pay $20 per every few weeks for prepaid service?

    Travis Mcgregor: The need for rental mobile service didn't, there's no need for it anymore.

    Sean Weisbrot: So you, but you, you were saying you presented something that they wanted and then you built it.

    Travis Mcgregor: I was there to prevent, uh, present re uh, rental systems.

    Travis Mcgregor: And I presented prepaid 'cause they wanted prepaid. then in 90 days we delivered the world's first, uh, digital two GGS sound realtime billing system for, uh, BTS on.

    Sean Weisbrot: And so you're saying the prepaid thing you were supposed to present was the thing that was obsolete?

    Travis Mcgregor: no. Rental.

    Travis Mcgregor: I was presenting,

    Sean Weisbrot: Hmm.

    Travis Mcgregor: obsolete after I presented prepaid was all from the hip, right on stage.

    Travis Mcgregor: Yeah.

    Sean Weisbrot: Okay.

    Sean Weisbrot: And you're still involved with sim cards now?

    Sean Weisbrot: I believe.

    Travis Mcgregor: Yes. Uh, I've been in this interesting journey, uh, ever since about 16, 17 years old in distributed computing.

    Travis Mcgregor: And married with secure execution.

    Travis Mcgregor: Uh, we, the billing technologies have revolutionized billing worldwide an accounting perspective, and then the billing technology and distributed manages all the fraud detection systems.

    Travis Mcgregor: So. Making money, protecting money.

    Travis Mcgregor: That's what the original billing systems did.

    Travis Mcgregor: The second ones in sim manages all the data quality.

    Travis Mcgregor: So today we wouldn't be able to make a phone call with any clarity if it wasn't for the quality of experience and delivery intellectual property that, that I created or we created and put into to the standards.

    Travis Mcgregor: So both of those, yes.

    Travis Mcgregor: Involved, uh, sim cards and and sim technology.

    Sean Weisbrot: A lot of people seem to think that patents are kind of useless in protecting yourself, especially when dealing with China.

    Sean Weisbrot: How have you found working pet with patents to be, how, how important is it or how relevant is it actually to business?

    Travis Mcgregor: I wish I had my mentor, Richard Peterson, Esquire of, uh, you know, a graduate of Hastings University of San Francisco.

    Travis Mcgregor: Well, they don't call that anymore.

    Travis Mcgregor: One of the most prestigious, law schools for intellectual property.

    Travis Mcgregor: And, you know, it it, the, I wish that intellectual property was taught as it was taught to me. Let's, let's begin.

    Travis Mcgregor: So the United States invented the patent system and at the end of the day, the patent system was for an inventor who comes up with something novel that no one else thought that is useful in the world.

    Travis Mcgregor: I will take a royalty, a very small piece, maybe one or 2% is my compensation, and I go around to the world and teach my invention so it better the world.

    Travis Mcgregor: So I don't become this greedy person taking the money, the, the intellectual property can benefit the world.

    Travis Mcgregor: What has happened is the only, the suing patent infringement, as everyone thinks about corporate greed has completely reversed why the intellectual property system was invented by the us. You're supposed to teach, not take very much.

    Travis Mcgregor: It's reversed.

    Travis Mcgregor: Take it all, be greedy, and so on. So, you know, uh, PE today with AI and stuff, people say, Hey, patents are worth nothing.

    Travis Mcgregor: Why? Because you get one claim construction, maybe in a court, you, maybe you win.

    Travis Mcgregor: It has nothing to do with the lawsuit and suing people from infringement.

    Travis Mcgregor: It has to do with a collection of thoughts that are focused, that are immutable.

    Travis Mcgregor: Right.

    Travis Mcgregor: When you, when you take a, a technology and a company or a process and you define it, so to the point that everyone focuses, just the process aligns a company's minds and the engineers.

    Travis Mcgregor: If you do it right.

    Travis Mcgregor: The other thing too is it sets forth a territory of understanding and the territory can be given to people.

    Travis Mcgregor: For, in our example in this company, SLC, are three groups of patents.

    Travis Mcgregor: The first one is for profit.

    Travis Mcgregor: We make a lot of money.

    Travis Mcgregor: I have shareholders.

    Travis Mcgregor: The second one is for the industry to better the industry, more efficiency, more security, so the industry can move forward. the third, which has never been done in history, is they're using the patent system to protect the interests and the sovereign identity and data of the human race.

    Travis Mcgregor: So for maybe 20 years, I can use patents to protect the rights.

    Travis Mcgregor: And identities of people.

    Travis Mcgregor: So it's uh, interesting.

    Travis Mcgregor: You can use patents for offense, defense, understanding and creating a roadmap of technology and thought process, it's extremely useful.

    Travis Mcgregor: If you look at just the infringement side, I can see that argument.

    Travis Mcgregor: If you look at it for what it really truly is, it really is something that governs the world as we know today.

    Sean Weisbrot: In a world where.

    Sean Weisbrot: Social media companies have access to all of your information.

    Sean Weisbrot: How are you able to protect the identities and the sovereign rights of people?

    Sean Weisbrot: It's a very lofty goal.

    Travis Mcgregor: it, it, it, you know, I, I can't say because we're public right now, but I do get, you know, the, the head of blah, blah, blah, interior, whatever, of governments, and they ask the, they ask that question, Travis, can you, can you guarantee the sovereign sovereignty of the identity of my people and also their data?

    Travis Mcgregor: And, and I say yes.

    Travis Mcgregor: And that's a very difficult question to answer this day and age.

    Travis Mcgregor: Uh. The reason why use, uh, sim and EIM technology, it's separate from everything else.

    Travis Mcgregor: It's a secure execution environment.

    Travis Mcgregor: So if your I, your id, your representation of who you are, the private information I argue, should be there not on all these cloud systems that can be taken and, and, and manipulate it. I also believe that it is our responsibility as humans from birth.

    Travis Mcgregor: To garner and to protect everything from data, our identity and everything. know that that's this whole thing today.

    Travis Mcgregor: It, it affects not only identity, but medical records and everything else you can imagine.

    Travis Mcgregor: And to do it, we have to separate data and give it clear guidelines.

    Sean Weisbrot: So what you're referring to, I believe is called Edge computing.

    Travis Mcgregor: Yes. That's one methodology that works very well of separating environments of data.

    Travis Mcgregor: Yes.

    Sean Weisbrot: So essentially for people who aren't aware, the way that things work now is you connect to a page, you connect to a server, you connect to the internet, and in doing so, you are sharing information from your local computer or your, your device, your compu, uh, computer phone, whatever.

    Sean Weisbrot: And it, it sends the information so that it gets that handshake.

    Sean Weisbrot: Those are the tokens and the keys and everything that you may not normally think about when you're accessing this stuff.

    Sean Weisbrot: And so what he's referring to with edge computing is that instead of storing the keys on a server in the cloud, you would save the keys on the sim card in your phone.

    Sean Weisbrot: And so instead of you having to share something to get access to the information.

    Sean Weisbrot: You store the information in, in your own hand, and it's the server that has to ask, and it's up to you to decide if you wanna give it or not.

    Travis Mcgregor: That's exactly the point today is, is that we have, uh, given everything without any control.

    Sean Weisbrot: Yeah.

    Sean Weisbrot: And, and that's unacceptable to everybody.

    Sean Weisbrot: And yet WhatsApp does it.

    Travis Mcgregor: Mm-hmm.

    Sean Weisbrot: call themselves, uh, end-to-end encrypted, but the reality is if you have the private key, if you have the, the encryption key inside WhatsApp server, what's the point of calling it end-to-end encrypted?

    Sean Weisbrot: Because you need to send the message from your phone to them and they have to decrypt it to send it to the other person so it's not end-to-end encrypted.

    Travis Mcgregor: It's interesting if you took a very, like if you took the small pipe, you know, put information through it. Yes, it's very secure when it's in the pipe, but when it reach their server, it's an ocean of unsecured data.

    Travis Mcgregor: That's where the vulnerabilities are.

    Travis Mcgregor: It's not the point to point, you know, you can say point to point encryption.

    Travis Mcgregor: That means you'd have to break the data and hack it while it's being back and forth communicated.

    Travis Mcgregor: That's fine.

    Travis Mcgregor: It's very secure as soon as it hits their server.

    Travis Mcgregor: The cloud environment is where all the damage is happening today.

    Sean Weisbrot: And, and that's how, uh, there was these, uh, applications that were used to spy on journalists like Khashoggi.

    Sean Weisbrot: And it was done through WhatsApp. And that's why people like to use Telegram because Telegram doesn't use standard encryption, so they don't know how to crack it. That's why one of the reasons why Paval Dura, the founder of Telegram, was arrested in France 'cause they didn't like that it was encrypted.

    Travis Mcgregor: Well, I mean, it's, well, it goes against the US encryption, import export of encryption policy, but yeah, I totally follow what you mean.

    Travis Mcgregor: It they, they weren't, you know, hackers aren't aware of that, that, that algorithm, but they will.

    Sean Weisbrot: And, and as well as Signal there.

    Sean Weisbrot: I don't remember Signal's like a nonprofit.

    Sean Weisbrot: They got like $50 million from Elon Musk, I think, or they,

    Travis Mcgregor: that, are those KKGB, former KGB engineers?

    Travis Mcgregor: Is that the one from C.

    Sean Weisbrot: no, I think they're Americans.

    Travis Mcgregor: okay.

    Sean Weisbrot: No, no, sorry.

    Sean Weisbrot: Uh, telegram was their, their former Russian.

    Travis Mcgregor: that's right.

    Travis Mcgregor: That's right.

    Sean Weisbrot: And he, he left Russia.

    Travis Mcgregor: Yeah.

    Sean Weisbrot: He, he created v contacting, which is like the Facebook for Russia.

    Travis Mcgregor: Oh.

    Sean Weisbrot: And then someone in Russia, high up, possibly even Putin, was involved in like buying the company and then kind of kicking him out of the company after buying, I think he sold it for like 400 million.

    Sean Weisbrot: And then they, they started to go and look into him more and they were like, yeah, we don't really want you around.

    Sean Weisbrot: So he, he fled the country.

    Sean Weisbrot: I think they tried to arrest him and he like fled and he got outta Russia and he said, I don't think he's allowed to go back ever again.

    Sean Weisbrot: So he like lives between France and Dubai.

    Travis Mcgregor: Well, it's, it's, by the way, not to get into names, but, you know, I know individuals where they fled with the uh, uh, the Christian algorithm tattooed.

    Sean Weisbrot: Wow.

    Travis Mcgregor: You know what I mean?

    Travis Mcgregor: Just to, Hey, nothing to see.

    Travis Mcgregor: I'm not, oh, the encryption algorithm.

    Travis Mcgregor: The keys are all down my back.

    Travis Mcgregor: You know, wild stuff.

    Travis Mcgregor: Yeah.

    Travis Mcgregor: Very interesting.

    Sean Weisbrot: So essentially what you're referring to is an attempt to change the way the world, uh, handles security from cloud to edge.

    Sean Weisbrot: And in the past you needed really powerful devices to do that, and I think smartphones are more than capable of doing that.

    Sean Weisbrot: The question is, are the SIM cards capable of doing that?

    Sean Weisbrot: And the answer is unknown to me.

    Travis Mcgregor: So repeat that once again.

    Travis Mcgregor: So I have clarity.

    Travis Mcgregor: The SIM cards can't do what?

    Sean Weisbrot: Uh, if simcar, so the device has to be able to compute the need to have, how to say this?

    Sean Weisbrot: The device that's going to enable the edge computing has to be powerful enough to compute the needs of.

    Travis Mcgregor: Everything.

    Sean Weisbrot: of the security,

    Travis Mcgregor: yeah.

    Travis Mcgregor: Yeah.

    Sean Weisbrot: I am confident that smartphones are good enough to be able to handle that these days.

    Sean Weisbrot: The question is if the SIM card is the one leading the charge, are SIM cards strong enough to be able to do that?

    Travis Mcgregor: Yeah, so it's interesting not a lot of people know is that secure silicon is manufactured by roughly five manufacturers in the world in NXP, former Phillips, Samsung, for example, Silicon foundries that manufacture secure core silicon are separate from all other manufacturing.

    Travis Mcgregor: By design.

    Travis Mcgregor: So apart, all of these wafers or silicon are shipped not by freight, by air only.

    Travis Mcgregor: Once again, physical security, end to end points the assembly where they take the chips and put it in the phone.

    Travis Mcgregor: So when you look at the, it's the only known environment that has physical and logical security, full end-to-end lifecycle or what they call is, uh, uh, supply chain, let's say.

    Travis Mcgregor: It's the only known one.

    Travis Mcgregor: So that, and also the, the tamper resistant measures in silicon are very robust and cannot be broken.

    Travis Mcgregor: They were broken over 20 years ago by a gentleman named Paul Kocher that used to work for me. didn't work for me when he broke it. He's a billionaire now.

    Travis Mcgregor: But, uh, he broke it and he provided the differential power analysis attack vectors, and that sold hardening.

    Travis Mcgregor: SIM technology, a secure core silicon, which goes into Sims, EIMS, HSMs, and also smart cards, visa, MasterCard type.

    Travis Mcgregor: So, uh, and will it be broken in the future?

    Travis Mcgregor: Of course, everything man makes man will break, but right now moving from cloud and using the security vectors of this chip will solve our current problems to a large degree.

    Sean Weisbrot: I can understand that the sim, physical sim card itself has those things inside, but how do you get the same benefit from an eim?

    Travis Mcgregor: yeah.

    Travis Mcgregor: So today our security is through SSL and T, like TLS certificates coming from internet cloud servers.

    Travis Mcgregor: I'm reversing the role, so in the sim you'll have a private elliptic curve key.

    Travis Mcgregor: It's generated, never leaves that secure execution environment in the sim.

    Travis Mcgregor: Every software transaction in the future has to sign key, otherwise it's not valid.

    Travis Mcgregor: So

    Sean Weisbrot: And so even a C,

    Travis Mcgregor: could, yeah.

    Sean Weisbrot: so even an can do that.

    Travis Mcgregor: Yes. So EIM and SIM are the same.

    Travis Mcgregor: Silicon and EIM is not removable.

    Travis Mcgregor: A SIM is removable from the device. the future, most everything will be eim.

    Travis Mcgregor: They're all communicated through OTA over the air.

    Travis Mcgregor: It's a secure channel to load software and communicate with sims.

    Sean Weisbrot: It, it makes sense to get rid of sim cards because they're like coins.

    Sean Weisbrot: Why the hell do I, we need them.

    Travis Mcgregor: Well, the, it had logic in the beginning, but, but we have, we're so sophisticated with all the internet systems and the rest of it, and we, and we communicate so reliably to these sims.

    Travis Mcgregor: Yes, you're, you're, you're absolutely right.

    Travis Mcgregor: There's no need to remove 'em in the future.

    Sean Weisbrot: I am annoyed by the fact that I have a device which supports one physical and one es I. Why can't I just have two Es sims?

    Travis Mcgregor: Well, it, it, it is going there.

    Travis Mcgregor: I mean, uh, new, new iOS devices have, uh, between 10 and 12 ems.

    Sean Weisbrot: Well, I have an Android, so maybe that's why

    Travis Mcgregor: Well, yeah,

    Sean Weisbrot: I.

    Travis Mcgregor: I love my Samsung flip.

    Travis Mcgregor: So, you know, it, it, it, it, it is a, you know what's really interesting is going back about 22 years ago, is that the silicon was offered to the mobile industry, or a little more than that.

    Travis Mcgregor: You know, it was offered to the banking industry and also governments.

    Travis Mcgregor: Governments use it for ID cards, And access cards and so on. Works very well.

    Travis Mcgregor: And mobile networks used it for their sim.

    Travis Mcgregor: And what happened along the way is that mobile networks wanted to be banks.

    Travis Mcgregor: I remember years ago when I had a Motorola phone with a, it was a point of sale.

    Travis Mcgregor: I was doing point of sale transactions using a Visa card, the regulators went, oh, mobile networks, no, you're over here.

    Travis Mcgregor: You don't get into banking.

    Travis Mcgregor: Oh, well, I'm gonna take my secure silicon and I'm gonna go my way.

    Travis Mcgregor: They haven't had a problem, Visa, MasterCard had master problems all around the world with, you know, frauding them.

    Travis Mcgregor: They moved to chip and pin.

    Travis Mcgregor: No more problems in that category. mobile industry took that secure looking for their purpose.

    Travis Mcgregor: Visa, MasterCard for just EMV payments, took it for them, leaving the banks with nothing.

    Travis Mcgregor: What I mean by that, yeah, they use it, but they're using stuff on the fringe.

    Travis Mcgregor: What I'm doing is bringing the architecture back into the core because all these systems, including healthcare, banking, government, should operate all in this architecture.

    Sean Weisbrot: So where are you in this journey of making edge computing happen on the the phone device?

    Travis Mcgregor: We are, uh, we are one of the few, or maybe the only company in the world to have KIC access to every secondary iOS and Android device in the world.

    Travis Mcgregor: Uh, that makes up. We have relationships under contract with, uh, with our MVNO Mongo relationship with over 600 mobile networks in the world.

    Travis Mcgregor: So we can reach any country and, and any device in the world that's iOS, Android to start.

    Travis Mcgregor: That only makes up about half of the mobile devices in the world.

    Travis Mcgregor: The rest of the devices are, uh, what they call feature phones, different operating systems, lower cost product.

    Travis Mcgregor: And, and they're typically still sim We can still support that, but this is, we are, we're now starting with iOS, Android devices in secondary and then moving to primary as we work closer with mobile networks.

    Sean Weisbrot: So it's great that you have access to these devices, but how are you implementing your vision?

    Sean Weisbrot: How are you actually making strides to protect people's devices?

    Travis Mcgregor: Yeah.

    Travis Mcgregor: Once again, I have to make sure that everything's in the public domain in this discussion.

    Travis Mcgregor: Yes. On

    Sean Weisbrot: Sure.

    Travis Mcgregor: is what is very important, I would believe to say at this juncture is leadership.

    Travis Mcgregor: So we have, we have the cloud, the the Microsofts, the, the Googles and apples and so on, making up this environment.

    Travis Mcgregor: That's their area.

    Travis Mcgregor: You have the mobile networks, you have the sim and all.

    Travis Mcgregor: You have all these. participants, different industry participants, and, and they want someone to step up, you know, step up and lead.

    Travis Mcgregor: Right, and what was very fortunate is, is that when I was in Barcelona a month ago at the Mobile World Congress, mass, one of the biggest shows in the world, and, and, professor Edmond Cannon and I, the father of 3G putting the standards together, we were there and thought that the whole show would be about ai.

    Travis Mcgregor: It was, but the deputy general, when we started and we're walking into there says that, that it comes time in history where the mobile industry needs to stand for security and identity.

    Travis Mcgregor: We have the unique attributes to solve and everything.

    Travis Mcgregor: Professor and I are looking at each other.

    Travis Mcgregor: So we come to the right place.

    Travis Mcgregor: We come to the right place.

    Travis Mcgregor: So leadership, GSMA, which has been very fortunate US, have now embraced us, which GSMA is the Global Industry Association for Mobile Communications. the networks, all the manufacturers, everything to boot and government regulations and standards. they are going to be showcasing us worldwide.

    Travis Mcgregor: So I can say that

    Sean Weisbrot: When.

    Travis Mcgregor: it is a series of things.

    Travis Mcgregor: We start with a public, uh, manifesto, uh, statement of requirements to the world, and that will be going out in a matter of days. that says, we're gonna, what we're gonna do and why.

    Travis Mcgregor: And then the next one is, is that, is the, they call it the GSMA Foundry.

    Travis Mcgregor: We're gonna build a prototype for the world to look at, to test, and the rest of it is live.

    Travis Mcgregor: And I've invited Google.

    Travis Mcgregor: Ericsson, so California, Sweden, to join me in in the foundry and the first endeavor is to create, and I'll call it into six G, but now 5G. Safe calling for the future.

    Travis Mcgregor: Right now everyone's calling each other JP Morgan Chase.

    Travis Mcgregor: My bank for our company calls me. I have no idea who it is. I call

    Sean Weisbrot: That's color ID though,

    Travis Mcgregor: they have no idea who I'm anymore.

    Sean Weisbrot: but they have color id.

    Travis Mcgregor: Oh, gives it, oh wait.

    Travis Mcgregor: They don't fake that every time.

    Travis Mcgregor: Okay, so senior citizens right now, the suicide rate's so high on people who are victimized by all this, Hey, gimme your OTP, gimme this.

    Travis Mcgregor: What's your access?

    Travis Mcgregor: Because I'm your bank.

    Travis Mcgregor: They're, they're calling saying they're frauding an individual bad actors.

    Travis Mcgregor: Right?

    Travis Mcgregor: So one of the biggest problems in the world today is that people don't know who each other is calling.

    Travis Mcgregor: That is a major issue.

    Travis Mcgregor: So the war Ericsson went out with these kamara standards, which, uh, in cloud and the rest of it, unfortunately, because of all the security pro is probabilistic.

    Travis Mcgregor: And so without SLC technology, the sim, we can't determine all of who is calling who in the future.

    Travis Mcgregor: So in the future is when the bank calls you, you'll know absolutely who's calling from the bank, what person, what bank, and why.

    Travis Mcgregor: If someone calls you to pitch you something as an advertisement, you'll know ahead of time and you'll either take that caller no. Right.

    Travis Mcgregor: Or if it's your child's school, you'll know damn sure who it is anymore.

    Travis Mcgregor: So the the, the six G architecture, we're working with Nvidia and a lot of these Ericsson Google show that all calling is known at the instance of calling.

    Travis Mcgregor: It's a brave new world.

    Travis Mcgregor: So I think that, you know, we, we are, uh, at a point that, uh, need to reverse the way the communication systems work.

    Travis Mcgregor: I mean, we had payphones, right, and anonymous put a quarter in, and I have a phone number.

    Travis Mcgregor: That methodology, public anonymous communications completely reversed now.

    Travis Mcgregor: And communications and the communication networks are now forming the, the concept of ID for the future.

    Sean Weisbrot: And so this is something that needs six G. It, it's basically gotta be baked into six G from the start.

    Travis Mcgregor: absolutely.

    Travis Mcgregor: Six G represents a departure from base stations proprietary silicon hardware from very good companies that run this as Ericsson, Alcatel Lucent, Nokia, Motorola, hue.

    Travis Mcgregor: These companies that made massive infrastructure when they move all that to the cloud.

    Travis Mcgregor: Uh, you have massive security problems, but as we're now moving and solving things in 5G with SLC, getting a six GI do see quite a renaissance in, in the OR or area of safety and not so many problems that we're seeing today.

    Travis Mcgregor: A lot of this can be resolved.

    Travis Mcgregor: Yeah. six G you.

    Sean Weisbrot: Tell me more about.

    Sean Weisbrot: What you see happening with six G in a, in a positive light, more than more than just protecting senior citizens or knowing that the bank is the one calling you.

    Travis Mcgregor: Well, it is interesting.

    Travis Mcgregor: Six G is really the logical merger of what we know in cloud computing and mobile communications, and now satellite.

    Travis Mcgregor: Right, so that the positive outcome is when you look at inclusive service at low cost to every person in the world from, you know, you and I enjoy first world communications.

    Travis Mcgregor: Look at this.

    Travis Mcgregor: We're on, we're on a laptop, we're on a podcast right now and everything else.

    Travis Mcgregor: But when I look at, I start with the basics.

    Travis Mcgregor: You know, you go to like the United Nations Social Development goals, and then you say, okay, what does six G do? Starting with the poorest person in the world, or the poorest economies in the world, it does a lot.

    Travis Mcgregor: It all, it can provide free internet because when you start to get to the point where services pay for the less, you know, uh, the, the, the less, uh, less fortunate in the world, that's when truly wetting nations take responsibility.

    Travis Mcgregor: Wealthy companies take responsibility and start to offer and bake in the standards a basic level of service for everyone.

    Travis Mcgregor: Then you start, and then if you have a mobile service, that's my calling and data and everything.

    Travis Mcgregor: Ah, what if we could get to some inclusive financial understanding and having that universal across so that we have a baseline.

    Travis Mcgregor: You know, if you look at like social security type systems and stuff, they, it's so corrupt and so on in these days.

    Travis Mcgregor: Why can't we do something that's baked in? You know, you look at Finland right now, no homeless.

    Travis Mcgregor: The crime's down, they solved it. Can't we start doing?

    Travis Mcgregor: So I see the positive, so much technology, so much availability to the world, uh, mass adoption so that you, you have economies of scale for so low cost service.

    Travis Mcgregor: I see a lot of cool things happening with six G.

    Sean Weisbrot: And when do you think six G is gonna be rolled out?

    Travis Mcgregor: I hope not.

    Travis Mcgregor: As long as 5G took and five G's still not there.

    Travis Mcgregor: Well, no, it's a, that's a different problem.

    Travis Mcgregor: You know, it's like when you, when you try to pack in the spectrum so much, you can't, ah, we've hit the limit.

    Travis Mcgregor: We're gonna start frying people's brains.

    Travis Mcgregor: Right.

    Travis Mcgregor: You know, I think that six G's gonna happen quickly because a lot of the foundational things is gonna be run by ai. Meaning that a lot of the, the more of the uh, um, basic setups and all that kind of stuff, the infrastructure stuff will be all ai. So we'll have efficiencies of time three years from now.

    Travis Mcgregor: It's my prediction.

    Travis Mcgregor: I.

    Sean Weisbrot: Is there gonna be an AI created by governments to run this, or will this be created by companies like Open AI or, or

    Travis Mcgregor: it

    Sean Weisbrot: Xai?

    Travis Mcgregor: is a pheno.

    Travis Mcgregor: So I'll just talk about the us. So the US has a 5G federal network.

    Travis Mcgregor: That's only for the US government, right?

    Travis Mcgregor: It's not, it's not a public spectrum.

    Travis Mcgregor: So those phones issued, you know, Hey, I work for the government and my phone company is the government.

    Travis Mcgregor: There's no other phone company.

    Travis Mcgregor: It's their network.

    Travis Mcgregor: Right?

    Travis Mcgregor: So they really care about that network.

    Travis Mcgregor: So what you're getting at is what?

    Travis Mcgregor: What would a government do in public networks for all of us public citizens and the rest of it, I hope a lot more than they have.

    Travis Mcgregor: What I mean by that is, is that, uh, it, it's coming a point where governments are, ah, the, the first, over the last number of years, governments are all upset because tens, 20, 30, 40 trillions of dollars have been just stolen in CRI criminology.

    Travis Mcgregor: You know what I mean?

    Travis Mcgregor: So this, this, this public internet, this digital, always on this experiment is really costing us a lot of money.

    Travis Mcgregor: If you take it in the word of the, the Chief Security Officer, JP Morgan Chase, if we don't solve this, it's gonna be the collapse of our monetary system as we know it today kind of thing.

    Travis Mcgregor: Right? if governments get involved on an architectural level, get all the politics out and put the scientists at work, solve this.

    Travis Mcgregor: Okay.

    Sean Weisbrot: But solve it. How? Build an AI just for the public networks that's owned by the people, like a decentralized artificial intelligence that just

    Travis Mcgregor: Oh,

    Sean Weisbrot: like, you know, how, how, how you, how utilitarian are you gonna try to be to protect people?

    Sean Weisbrot: Because can you trust any of those companies?

    Sean Weisbrot: Can you trust any of these AI companies to manage AI based communications on mobile devices?

    Travis Mcgregor: Now you're getting into an area that, I'll just throw it out on there.

    Travis Mcgregor: Okay.

    Travis Mcgregor: So I, we, you asked a question, do governments get involved?

    Travis Mcgregor: But that's a small percentage of all of us, the people representing us at government.

    Travis Mcgregor: It's very small I would say that.

    Travis Mcgregor: It's not effective.

    Travis Mcgregor: These individuals, the small percentage of people are representing all of us. That methodology, whatever it is, is not working.

    Travis Mcgregor: What if we could use the Sims to enable and understand all the good standing people in the world?

    Travis Mcgregor: And what if major issues could be voting on without government involvement?

    Travis Mcgregor: What do the people think of the world?

    Travis Mcgregor: I think the people are good.

    Travis Mcgregor: I do. Two, I believe a majority of the human race is good, and I believe if given the right questions, the right directives to then cons have a consensus on, we would all gravitate to the right direction to serve all of us for the betterment.

    Travis Mcgregor: I don't know if governments are working right now, so maybe that's not the best way, but I am pushing to have governments adopt this as a framework.

    Travis Mcgregor: Nevertheless.
