Jeremy Mah

Co-founder and CEO of NeuXP, Inc.

When did you know you wanted to start your own company?

I have always wanted to start my own company since high school.

What was your original idea for this company, and are you still doing that (or did you pivot, if so, what is the new focus and why)?

My original idea has not changed since but with the changes in technology and consumer behavior I realized there is a need for innovations to stay ahead.

How long did it take you to finally take the leap, and what was it that pushed you over the fence?

I have decided to pursue full time employment before actually taking the leap. This is definitely crucial in understanding the gaps which currently exists and also areas on how we can transform things all together.

Who inspired you to pursue your dream, and why do you think they believed in you?

I actually got my inspirations from a TV series I followed during my school days.

Who is your favorite mentor and why?

I don’t have any favorite mentor as I really admire everyone who has coached and given valuable advice even though I just got to know them.

What was the hardest thing about starting your company, and what did you do to make it through the first stage?

The hardest thing is making that first step. There is definitely lots of uncerstanties ahead especially when you’re moving from a full time employment with an established organization. However it’s important not to look back when taking the leap and have a full plan ready and stick to executing them.

What has been the hardest lesson to learn?

Getting the wrong people to the team can be a very costly affair. It’s also very important for everyone in the team to share the same vision in order to take the company to the next level.

What has been the most amazing thing you have experience while running this company?

Meeting great people.

What is the weirdest thing you have experienced while running this company, and how did you react to it?

So far there’s none and hopefully I won’t encounter one.

What is the best decision you’ve ever made while running this company?

Getting right partners on board.

What is the biggest mistake you made while running this company, and why do you think it happened?

I’ve learnt a lot from my previous ventures and definitely won’t look to repeating them in running this company. It’s important to work with the right people, one with integrity and share a common vision.

How has the coronavirus pandemic affected your company?

The coronavirus pandemic would definitely affect us in terms of customer acquisition. Therefore this is a time for me to take a step back, strategize and be prepared to go all out when the pandemic ends.

What keeps you passionate about your company?

I believe that the solution will change dynamics of the industry and I look forward to take this change globally.

What daily routine have you developed to help you take care of your mind, body, and soul?

Speaking with different people around the globe, exchanging views on different topics keeps me active.

What one thing would you like people to take away from this interview?

Never give up. There’s no right or wrong strategy. If things don’t work out as planned, find out what went wrong and what can be done differently this time.
