Want to save money with your Chinese suppliers?
We renegotiate your contracts so you have more cash to spend.
Your job as the leader of your brand is to stay focused on growth, which often means different things at different times of the day, week, month, quarter, and year.
As your brand grows, your team will grow with it, which removes you more and more from the nuances of each process needed to keep the company growing.
While most companies keep an eye on revenue, they often forget about their costs, many of which balloon out of control as this growth is happening.
Every company has fixed costs, many of which can be reduced with proper care given to your vendor relationships.
Whether you are buying raw materials for your manufacturing process, or having end products manufactured for you, you will need to establish and maintain these relationships with your Chinese vendors.
Unfortunately, working with Chinese companies is often bewildering, and even if you are lucky enough to have a great relationship with them, they are almost certainly taking advantage of you by charging more than you NEED to spend because you don’t understand their language, their culture, or their unit economics.
That’s why companies like yours from all over the world partner with us to renegotiate your contracts and save you money so you can lower your costs and increase your profitability.
The best thing about us is that if we don’t save you any money, you pay us ABSOLUTELY NOTHING.
So how do we do it?
How we do it
At We Live to Build, we’re more than just consultants, we’re your brand success partners. We help you in many different ways to save you money so it supports your goals. Our proven approach involves:
We know this work takes time, so by listening to your goals and needs, we always get it done right the first time.
We research your costs as well as who your suppliers are and what the macroeconomic environment will tolerate in terms of negotiation.
We work closely with your team to ensure our efforts maximize savings while preserving your existing vendor relationships and operations.
Every business is unique, so before we can get to work, we will first spend time communicating with your team to best understand the vision and goals.
Result: We will develop an actionable strategy custom-tailored to your situation.
Timeline: 1-2 days
Next, we will employ several strategies simultaneously to better understand how much you should REALLY be paying your vendor for the product.
Result: We will combine the strategy and investigation results to create a plan of action we can execute on.
Timeline: 1 week
Lastly, we will communicate with your vendors to renegotiate your contracts in service of not just hitting goals, but surpassing expectations.
Result: Your company will save AT LEAST 2% with vendors, but we hope to lower costs by 5-10%.
Timeline: 1-4 weeks
Who is Sean?
Sean Weisbrot is an American entrepreneur, investor, and consultant who lived in Asia for 14 years and is currently based in Lisbon, Portugal.
After getting a degree in Psychology, he bought a one way ticket to China at the age of 22. He lived in China for 10 years and taught himself to be fluent and literate in Mandarin at a business level.
He started multiple businesses in Asia, including an agency that sold $15M in services in 2 years. He’s since invested in 7 companies and exited 2 companies.
Today he spends his time running We Live to Build, a consulting and investment firm.
He also hosts a podcast with the same name about entrepreneurship and Psychology where he has interviewed over 160 business owners grossing 7-9 figures annually.
“Sean’s team did an incredible job understanding our needs and executing on their promises. They saved us roughly $500,000 USD annually in as little as 4 weeks! We’re now using this extra cash to launch our next product!”
“Before working with Sean, our teams struggled with Chinese vendors., which made it difficult to scale. Sean helped us save $785,000 USD in the first year! We gave everyone on the team permanent raises to protect them from inflation!”
What is the process?
- Step 1 is Strategy, where we determine your high-level goals and use them to formulate an actionable strategy.
- Step 2 is Investigation, where we dive deep into the industry to do price discovery on your product cost.
- Step 3 is Execution, where we communicate professionally and effectively with vendors to renegotiate contracts.
How long does the entire process usually take?
Every client has a different situation, but generally everything can be completed within 6 weeks.
How many clients can you work with at a time?
Because this is a very white glove service, we put a lot of energy into serving each client.
Therefore, we choose to only work with 5 clients at a time and give them our full attention.
How do I know you can actually help us?
Sean has lived in China for 10 years and is fluent and literate in Mandarin.
He worked in international trade for 2 years, visited numerous factories, negotiating tile deals for foreign property developers and frozen chicken deals for Chinese wholesale importers, so he knows how to communicate with factories, do quality control, and market-based price discovery.
He has also invested in ecommerce brands and ecommerce liquidators.
We pride ourselves on the details, and we care deeply about providing a high quality service.
Also, we have a lot of experience running this process, so managing vendors and saving clients money comes naturally for us!
How much can you save us?
The amount we can save you depends on a number of factors that we won’t know until we go deeper into your unique situation.
We view the potential as like a bell curve in that some products might be so perfectly priced that we can’t save you anything, in which case you pay us nothing for our effort.
The majority of products will tolerate a 2-10% reduction, and some products might be so poorly priced from the vendor that we can save 10-50%.
Once we do our investigation, we will be able to better inform you and execute our negotiation strategy to find the true price the vendor is willing to bear.
How much does it cost to work with you?
Working with us will result in two eventualities:
1) We save you money, and you pay us 50% of your first year’s savings.
2)We don’t save you money, and you don’t pay us ANYTHING
